We’re going to try something new here, where I give you some insight into what’s new/happening here at 42/78 Parks at Holiday Valley. We had an early start to the season obviously, and although we had big aspirations to get a ton of features in for opening day, we didn’t quite have the snow depth we were looking for to set the features we wanted. BUT- there’s plenty to be excited about, let’s get into it:
- We’re going to be ramping up snowmaking starting again tonight, through the weekend, and into next week. There are some killer temps in store, which should give us incredible coverage. We spread cover snow on Foxfire, giving us even base depth on riders left & right. We’ll now be able to focus on building piles for rail tiers & jump decks. I’d expect a decent park set-up for next weekend. The rail park will be a focus as well, ensuring we’ll get enough coverage to set rail lines, definitely stoked for that! The Outpost area will begin to take shape as well, with the Outpost hut being placed soon. Snoozer will be the next focus in terms of snowmaking, with a Moonshadow being the last park to open for the season.
– We’re really excited to roll-out our new Burton Riglet Park this season, which will be the ultimate interface between freestyle terrain & snow sports instruction. In a nutshell- getting kids shredding sooner than ever, keeping them stoked on the sport. Today, we had Alyssa from Burton in house training our snow sport, rental & terrain park crews on the basics. We’ll be having a grand opening event in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that!
- We’ve also been building some new stuff for you to get down on this season. These pictures are in various stages of construction, but so far we’ve added 10 more features to the park, with more to come through the month of December, including the Red Bull signature feature we didn’t quite get across the finish line last year. Get pumped, the new features are versatile & needed additions to our arsenal!
That’s about it in a nut-shell for the first post, I’ll do my best to update this blog frequently so you’re not in the dark, and up to speed with a our ‘haps! Thanks for reading, more s’updates to come!
