Eastern Snowboard League at Holiday Valley Stop #1 of the Eastern Snowboard League for 2012. Holiday Valley had perfect conditions and an immaculate course set-up.

Snowboarding and the subculture that define it are truly infinite by design. Founded upon the concepts of dynamic individualism, the Eastern Snowboard League has been formed as an avenue to highlight the talent and competitive identities of the riders and resorts based on the east coast. This league will be a collaborative effort of select resorts and brands which embody the originality, progression , and undying spirit of east coast snowboarding.

Snowboarding Hot Laps with Frank Knab

Snowboarding with Frank Knab Frank Knab making some hot laps in 4278 Parks as well as a hot lap on the Mountain Coaster! Frank is a local ripper who spends most of his time these days in Mammoth Lakes in California. Frank was a Training Center Coach for a great many years. He provided Snowboarding Training in slopestyle, rails, halfpipe and park skills. Team members from the Training Center compete in regional and national USASA events as well as Holiday Valley sponsored events.

4278 Bluebird Park Laps

As snow and weather permit, you’ll often see changes made to the features in the park. Riding in the rain, power outages, grass skiing

Grass Skiing-Holiday Valley If this is as bad as it gets, I’m Happy. Holiday Valley experiences tough times with Mother Nature. Chuck, Paul, Cody, Dan, and Rob shred the rail park in the rain.

It actually rained so hard that Western New York lost a good portion of it’s power. Holiday Valley and Ellicottville maintained, but the resort ski-lifts were closed early.

K2 ‘Pop This!’ High Ollie Contest

Yes We Haz Park Open!

4278 terrain park We haz a park open at the bottom of Mardi Gras! So come shred Holiday Valley. It’s a less that optimal weather cycle that we are in but our crews are making the best of it. So you should too.

The Rail Park at the base of Mardi Gras features a variety of progressive and creative jib lines. And if you’re new to riding, Holiday Valley is a Burton Learn to Ride Center and Burton Kids Learn to Ride Center! What this all means is that you’ll learn from the best instructors using the best teaching methods on the best equipment.

Holiday Valley Ski Edit from 42/78 Parks

WIKI: Freeskiing or Newschool skiing involves tricks, jumps, and terrain park features, such as rails, boxes, jibs, or other obstacles. This form of skiing resulted from a combination of the growth in popularity of snowboarding as well as the progression of Freestyle skiing. “Newschoolers”, or those who specifically ski in this style (as opposed to traditional freestylers, big mountain skiers, racers, etc.) are often found in terrain parks, which are designed specifically for tricks.

The great thing about the Cindy’s lift is that you can easily hook up with a crew and bomb either of the 42/78 parks which are accessible from the top. This is called “hot-laps”
