Tons of photos from the Holiday Valley Spring Session 2010. Tim Garvey, Collin Hayes, and Billy Bacon behind the Cameras. Such a rad day as the talent was having a feeding frenzy. Suburban Blend unofficially retained it’s Shop Wars title as their riders were on fire. Trey Clauss from the City Garage sent it the largest (as usual) and the gap ate a few people. This event was summed up as the Best Day of the Year! Many thanks to Pat Morgan and Chris Perks and Denny Jacques for all the labor that they put into the features.
Spring Session Saturday April 10, 2010
It’s that time of year everyone dreads: the resort is closed… BUT, there’s still plenty of snow left in the park, so with that being said we’re stoked to say that Spring Session 2010 is locked and loaded…
Bring some water, and your gnarly boots, and get ready to send it in the sun on Saturday April 10th, at 11am… we’ll play some tunes, watch some bails, and say goodbye to a season collectively…
The temps are all over the map this week, but we’re going to do our best to get a proper set up dialed in, including two tombstone hips (double sided) as well as an array of rails and boxes
Suburban Blend will be on hand to hand out some goodies for riders who are killing it! (See pics from last year)
The event is free, all we ask is that you respect the rules of the resort (no inverts etc) and that you clean up any of the garabage you bring with you when you leave… thats not too much to ask right?
Last day for Cindy’s Lift
Last day of lift access to the Foxfire terrain park and Cindy’s Run. I feel sorry for anyone who missed this fun in the sun.
Big Weekend(s) Ahead…
Well those of you visiting the resort have probably noticed a lot happening in 42/78 Parks… since re-doing the rail park, and dialing in Snoozer, we have been busy getting the 42/78 Park on Foxfire dialed for Salomon Jib Academy (www.salomonjibacademy.com) which is visiting this weekend… stop on out and check out Salomon team riders/coaches Tommy Ellingson, John Symms, Cody Ling, Nick Martini, Keri Herman, and Seth Warner, as they set it off…
We’ve re-established rail tiers above the riders left jump line, and have re-done all the other take-offs, landings, and run ins that were there before… We have one more day of cat work ahead of us to tidy up, and cut the pipe, then we’ll be ready to drop hammers all weekend…
Stay tuned for what’s in store with Red Bull Buttercup

Weekly S’update…
I thought I’d use this space to give a weekly summary of what we have going on here in the parks, and maybe even throw in some random industry musings here….
We’ve been working hard at cutting the pipe over the past few days, temps have been tricky, butwe’re doing some final passes this morning and we’ll be ready to go…
Foxfire jumps have been addressed, meaning we pushed the landings back up, and re did the takeoffs to fix the wear and tear they’ve gotten over the past week and a half. We’re hoping early next week to change up some of the rail / box stations, and maybe throw a few new things out there…
The wall ride has been by far our best feature of the year, and after some trial and error, we lengthened the transition on it, making those flat landings a little harder to come by…
Snoozer is all set as a boardercross course, after the events next weekend, we’ll change it up to fun jump lines (medium size stuff) to provide some good progression features…
The Terrain Garden (Progression Park) is all set and ready to go for beginners, looking forward to seeing the groms in there getting after it…
Last but not least, the organic park… we’re going to switch some things up in there, but the wood isnt going anywhere, sorry to those who whine about them!
Random Stuff:
-Red bull is doing a sky dive from the stratosphere… 120,000 ft free fall… are you kidding me? check the YouTube vid…
-Big Boulder started their TransAm build out, always look forward to seeing what Ian and the crew are up to…
-Okemo opened a natural park through their woods etc… will be interesting to read the feedback they get after the negative comments we recieved from the project…
Last but not least, we welcome Cody Voit to the park crew, he’s gonna fit in around here just fine…

Pipe Cutting in progress…

We started the process of creating a pipe for the season yesterday, we expect the work to be completed in a day or so, with weather cooperation… it’s not the easiest part of our job, but we’ll put the best pipe we can out there, props to Jim Curtis for his operating skills behind the sticks of the new PB 600 Park
